SYNOPSIS

Late one night, Megatron and Soundwave deftly breach the security of Quantum Laboratories to gain access to the greatest scientific achievement the conglomerate has so far developed: TORQ III, the super-computer. Before TORQ can take action against the intruders, Megatron reprograms him to do his bidding and has him implement the use of remote control circuit linkers, which give the computer the ability to control machinery all over the world. As Dr. Paul Gates, co-developer of TORQ III, expresses concern to his colleague about the potential danger the computer poses, they both find themselves imprisoned in Gates's office. However, Gates quickly rebuilds a communication device to contact the Autobots. Meanwhile, Megatron sets up base on an oil rig in the Atlantic, where hundreds of remote-controlled oil tankers come together to be drained of their cargo. Dr. Gates is successful in reaching Optimus Prime, who, along with Prowl, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Ironhide, travels to Quantum to free them while Skyfire takes Hound and Spike to infiltrate the Decepticon base. Although initially bested by TORQ's army of defensive machinery, the Autobots eventually conquer them with the help of the Dinobots. Optimus Prime enters the building where TORQ is located and, evading the computer's remaining militia, shuts him down. Skyfire and friends have been taken prisoner on the oil rig, but they break out to deactivate a protective force field so the other Autobots, now on their way on a hydrofoil, may pass through. Finally having the control of the oil tankers wrested from him, Megatron flees with his forces after detonating the oil rig, leaving the Autobots to make a narrow escape.
