Cyclonus and Scourge chase Air Raid through an asteroid belt, only to find that they have been led into a trap. The other Aerialbots appear and form Superion, who proceeds to trounce the Decepticon duo. Desperate for a way out, Cyclonus and Scourge escape through a vortex to a parallel universe, finally crashing on a planet whose appearance exactly matches Cybertron's, albeit in perfect condition and with nearly limitless energon supplies. The pacifistic inhabitants of the planet, known as Paradron, welcome and nurse them back to health, but the two Decepticons' thankless behaviour and violent overtaking of a communications tower to contact Galvatron causes Sandstorm, the population's spokesman, to ask his fellow citizens to oust the invaders. The Paradronians na´vely disagree, however, seeing the light only when Cyclonus and Scourge, bolstered by the arrival of Galvatron's forces, subjugate them and stun Sandstorm. Later, the imprisoned Sandstorm frees himself from his cell and leaves the planet in a ship, barely outpacing Brawl, Razorclaw, and Divebomb. Soon after, Sandstorm travels through the vortex and sends out a distress signal, which is picked up by a band of Autobots cruising space in Sky Lynx. At first met with skepticism from Kup, as Paradron does not exist on any Autobot starchart, Sandstorm tells the story of how his Autobot forefathers fled Cybertron and constructed a copy of that world where they could settle in peaceful existence, never to be found. The decision is quickly made to free Paradron of its oppressors, but as the Autobots near Sandstorm's homeworld, they narrowly avoid annihilation as their ship is pulverized by the rays of a molecular cannon. Landing safely on Paradron, Sandstorm finally convinces his friends to fight back, and a massive conflict ensues which sees the paradise ravaged by laserfire. Seeing no choice but to detonate the globe's energon core, the Paradronians evacuate to an asteroid only seconds before Paradron disintegrates, leaving the Decepticons to pull out as Sandstorm wistfully waxes lyrical about his former home.
