Lending their weight to a crime-fighting operation instigated by the New York Police Department, Tracks and Blaster do undercover work to help undo organized grand theft auto. Following the successful bust of a pair of car thieves and a fence, they return to a garage run by Sparkplug. Tracks enthuses about the Big Apple and heads out for a drive to take in some city air as Powerglide and Seaspray are sent out to patrol the city for signs of Decepticon activity. However, Tracks is attacked by more car thieves who shoot out one of his tyres, making him crash into a light pole. His hood banged up to the extent that he's not even able to transform, Tracks is left to his own devices. A while later, a street kid finds and claims him, intending to fix him up and deliver him to the Geddes brothers, car thieves par excellence. As Tracks reveals his identity to the youngster, named Raoul, a strange friendship develops, making Raoul reluctant to part with Tracks once he's repaired. The Geddeses appear and threaten Raoul's life, but Tracks bails him out of danger and learns that the light-fingered brothers are in cahoots with the Decepticons. The Geddeses' whereabouts being known to Raoul, Tracks goes undercover as a stolen car to infiltrate their operation. He ascertains that hundreds of stolen cars are being converted into transforming warrior drones, but barely escapes from the area with his life. The Autobots arrive on the scene and wage war against the non-sentient drones, which are eventually disabled by Blaster's jamming frequencies. Raoul defeats Megatron by spraying his innards with paint, leaving Tracks to destroy the current Decepticon base and Raoul to help Sparkplug and the others to reconvert the stolen cars so they may be returned to their rightful owners.
