SYNOPSIS

Believing Megatron to have been destroyed, Starscream assumes leadership of the Decepticons and wastes no time leading them on new energy raids. But after a losing run-in with the Autobots, they are surprised to find that Megatron is indeed still operational -- and he has not been idle. Their new objective is a research laboratory -- run by one Dr. Alkazar -- that has developed a special formula. It will enable Megatron to create anti-matter energon, the absorption of which will make him the most powerful weapon in existence. As Bumblebee, Spike, and their new friend Chip Chase visit the laboratory, Reflector acquires the needed security door access code. Chip is asked to keep in his possession a diskette so he may communicate with the laboratory computer. As they leave, Laserbeak attacks. They escape, alerting the other Autobots to the Decepticon activity. In an attempt to keep the formula safe from the invading Decepticons, Dr. Alkazar sends it to Chip's on-line home computer. Unfortunately, Chip is abducted, and his attempts to protect the formula by memorizing it are ultimately futile in the face of Soundwave's memory-extracting abilities. The Autobots are able to rescue Chip, but not without suffering significant damage. The Decepticons quickly attack, effectively using the anti-matter-enhanced Megatron to gain the advantage. But with the brave assistance of Chip and a new invention of Wheeljack's, Teletraan I overrides Skywarp's control of gun-mode Megatron and causes the anti-matter to reach ignition temperature. Megatron barely manages to remove the anti-matter energon cubes from his body before they detonate within him. The Decepticons have no choice but to retreat, leaving Megatron to lament bitterly the defeat at the hands of one small human.
