SYNOPSIS

The U.S. government gives the Autobots a sample of a new superfuel for testing. Naturally, Megatron endeavours to acquire it, but he and his unit of Ramjet, Dirge, Thrust, and Soundwave are soundly routed. Aggravated at the Autobots' domination of the roads, Megatron fashions a novel idea: a road-ravaging group of their own. Rumble rises to the task of stealing five powerful vehicles, to be modified into aerodynamic instruments of destruction. After testing the new team's abilities and naming them Stunticons for their astounding resilience and durability, Megatron travels with Rumble and Soundwave to Cybertron over the space bridge to endow them with personalities. The only way to do that is via the megacomputer responsible for the lives of countless Transformers, Vector Sigma, located deep in the planet. Megatron learns from Shockwave that Alpha Trion holds the key needed to activate the computer, and the Decepticons are quick to steal it from him. Meanwhile, the Autobots, having been alerted to their foes' recent activity, take Omega Supreme to Cybertron and find Alpha Trion battered in his base. As Ratchet and Hoist repair the senior Autobot and depart to nip Megatron's plans in the bud, the Decepticons encounter Centurion droids, the guardians of Vector Sigma. Megatron takes control of them with the key, programming them to attack the Autobots instead. The Autobots succeed in putting the Centurions out of commission, but they reach the Vector Sigma chamber too late. The Stunticons are complete and the Decepticons return to Earth, where the car group immediately begins to tear up the roads, even attacking the military base that provided the superfuel sample and making the resident general believe they are Autobots themselves. Back on Cybertron, Optimus Prime proposes to turn the tables on the Decepticons by creating a lineup of modern Autobot jet fighters from ancient Cybertronian shuttle ships.
